Aries: 3 of Disks x 5 of Wands
Happy Birthday Season Aries! You may be accustomed to working independently, or seeking little input from others, but this April you need to put together a small team of folks who want to build and achieve in the same ways you do. Work, tasks, projects, competitions will be better done and won if you have support and sturdy material foundations. Whatever processes or actions, physical supports or people that need to be in place make sure that they are there and fully operational! Stay on task, be on brand. You and your team may be competing for valuable resources or defending your reputations. Expect that others in your field, or in your immediate environment to have strategies and agendas of their own. Move accordingly.
Do collaborate, don't isolate. Do share, don't be stingy. Do initiate, don't wait. In your personal relationships, ask how you can make a beloved hobby a partner or team sport, or organise a [chosen] family gathering. Folks who love you want to spend quality time with you, and be around your energy, not cramp your style. Invite them in on your fun and petty resentments and misunderstandings will melt away.
Taurus: The High Priestess x 8 of Disks
Growing your intuition is just like working out any other muscle of the body. Progressive overload is when you gradually increase the weight used in your strength training routine to build bigger ad stronger muscles. Give your intuition more to handle with increasing repetition and feel your intuitive muscles bulge. Whatever your main practice, job or task is right now, you cannot afford to stop doing it. Something may feel difficult, mundane and unremarkable, but you may not be able to avoid to that call to produce, to work, to keep your nose to the grindstone.
The muscle (or tool) that may make your work easier is your intuition, your Higher Self, or even ancestral knowledge; an all together different and more whole form of knowledge that exists far beyond any text book, manual or 'how to' guide. Ask yourself, what am I overthinking? What have I forgotten that I already know, that can assist in me in accomplishing my goals right now? It may be buried deep. This knowledge may be trapped under years of miseducation that you're beginning to unlearn now, but it is the key to your thriving right now.
Gemini: 9 of Swords x Ace of Cups
Many thoughts may be competing for space in your mind, resulting in felt pressure in the anatomy of the head or in the realm of the psyche. I clearly see a pressure cooker. Pressure is building in one specific spot, and though progress is being made, something may feel unduly excruciating behind the scenes because the vessel or container it is in can no longer hold it. This bubbling boil of particles --thoughts, ideas, plans, worries, strategies, all the products of a healthy and active mind-- need a more suitable place to exist, for you to consider or experiment with. On your own, this could show up like feelings of stress, anxiety, fits of frustration about a matter that you have been unable to resolve or due to circumstances is just unresolved. This energy may also look like having the correct conversation with the wrong person/party/partner/group.
Find your audience. Not everyone or every place is a suitable interlocutor or site for your abundance (or excess) of cerebral activity. Some of your thoughts need to be cocooned in compassion; these mind seeds need to be planted in fertile soil, ina very specific conducive environment in order to flourish. Other thoughts need to be disposed of wholesale. The Ace of Cups signals a new way of being and emoting, especially around matters of the heart and creativity. Take a thought or an idea you've been working with for a long time (to the point of exhaustion or pain) and pair it with a new emotion, a new form of self expression, a new format, a new lover. This thing wants to be born, or rather needs to be born, into a different emotive home than you've been forcing it into. Ask yourself what/how new ways of self expression, untried modes of love, your intuition, and your imagination can help you create what you have in your mind. These are the tools and modalities that will alleviate all your pressure this month, Gemini.
Cancer: 7 of Wands x 5 of Cups
Time to fight for what you deserve, what is yours, Cancer! I ain't gonna hold you, sometimes the medicine for disappointment or injustice is RAGE or courage or advocacy, or probably a combo of all three. I see you really advocating for yourself this month, Cancer. Advocating for your right to joy, fulfillment, land or property, credit, accolades, recognition, fair compensation, your Seat at the Table… your right to blow up the whole god damn unjust table! You will overcome the challenges presented to you this month. You will not cry over split milk. You will see how much value you or something you possess still inherently holds, and take you and that value elsewhere if you are being sidelined or marginalized.
I wanna yell: 'take up arms!'. You may be called to defend your position or beliefs on a matter, or to keep some form of physical or intellectual property safe. Be cautious of some people or a system trying to steal something from right under your nose. Creative license belongs to your when it comes to your work and your art. Period. You may not have much outward support or backing but you'll do fine pulling yourself (and perhaps others too) out of a sticky situation. You may not get much thanks, but you deserve it! Ask yourself, if you're prepared to battle for what you deserve, what is owed to you (not in a self-righteous way, but literally owed because you worked for it and you won it). Don't cut your losses and walk away just yet, take what you have left, heal, regroup, engage. You'll be able to teach or advise others about this particular struggle when your done. I see you, coach!
Leo: The World x The Chariot
Play "The World is Yours" by Nas as you get ready every morning this month, Leo! "Whose world is this?" The world is yours, it's yours, it's yours! The world is your oyster! You got this. Success, completion, fulfilment are available to you via movement down a predetermined and committed course of action or path. You've thought about it, you've considered two or more paths and you know where you want to go and how you're going to get there. Wake up everyday and do that shit. Relocating, foreign travel, a journey, whether physical, emotional or mental will be begun this month on a large scale, and this journey will bring you closer to the end of one cycle, and perhaps to the threshold of another.
Ask yourself, if you could do anything or go anywhere in the universe, what and where would that be? Then ask yourself, after you've accomplished everything you can imagine or do desire, what else would you do? Where else would you go? Go beyond, and do those things, go to those places; then go beyond again. Not that you need it, but additional advise: mind ya business! Water your own garden, speak to your own plants, put blinders on, don't slow your row, don't stop for hitchhikers. Virgo: 9 of Disks x Queen of Cups
Hey, Pillow Princess! What's up, Queen? You look good, mmhhhmmm! Luxury suits you; rest looks good on you; self-knowledge makes you glow! Ask yourself, where luxury exists in your life, and I want you to consider that it is not in the items or places you may automatically think of. That quilt inherited from grandma that you put on the bed for Spring is a luxury. Scrubbing your tub and fixing yourself a bath to soak in is a luxury too. A solo stroll in the Sun through nature, breathing fresh air into your lungs is SO luxurious! Saying no, remaining silent when provoked, and protecting your peace are luxuries too! I invite you to pamper yourself this month, Virgo, with the things and knowledge and self-worth you already possess.
You don't have to buy anything new or fall in love with somebody else, or speak loudly or share energy you do not wish to share. If you will be outside, think to embody calm power and steely gazes. You may notice a wave of reverence wash over spaces you enter… it's the children GAGGING, honey! But really, this month, your home is your castle, Virgo. Stay out of the fray if and when you can. You may have a heightened sense of trouble on the horizon, emotional spats you want to part of, and no desire to prove anything to anybody. This energy is protective and generative for you. Sit on your throne or perch and observe through all your eyes the physical and emotional environment around you. Libra: Knight of Wands x The Moon
Does confusion reign? Ask yourself which of your own muddled emotions and reckless actions are controlling you this month. Lack of clarity, uncertainty or instability are signs of needing to pause or proceed with caution, not jump in head first. Impulsive action will be counter productive right now, resulting in more questions than answers, more mystery than certainty. Consequences may include, leading yourself and/or others down a wrong path. Bouts of aggression or depression may occur; short tempers may flare. Pay attention to the impulses to action you have when you feel vulnerable, are in doubt, feel depressed, lonely or indecisive. Devise a support plan to implement when all seems lost.
One of my dearest sister friends--a Libra Sun-- shared an analogy with me many years ago, and we keep it in our emotional tool kits. When we feel like we're drowning, like really under emotional and mental water, can't catch your breath, overwhelmed, just remember to stand up, because often we are drowning in just a foot of water, trying all sorts of maneuvers to get back to the surface. You don't have to know how to swim, don't need a savior or a life jacket, just stand up; one simple, known steady action to compose and center yourself.. This is giving that energy. You may fighting, kicking and screaming and doing the absolute most, wearing yourself out and going nowhere fast! Stand up. Look into the temporary darkness around you, allow yourself to see what circumstances and decisions you're actually facing before taking action. The only way out is through.
Scorpio: The Lovers x Page of Disks
Take the opportunities that come along this month to make love, create love, be in unity or partnership with yourself or another. You may be hesitant because this is a new endeavor or relationship, but COMMITMENT is your word this month, Scorpio. What or who are you committing to? This is supportive energy for entrepreneurs, small and emerging business and material all plans regarding resources, education/learning, travel/exploration and your health. Start a nest egg for the future or put an egg in the nest. Whatever you choose to commit to, will come with a lot of responsibility, whether that's launching a business, saving money, returning to school/ higher education, getting married or entering some other type of union or agreement, you will be made accountable to yourself and to the other party or entity involved.
It sounds serious but there is joy, pleasure, growth spurts, and valuable experience here. The answer is a confident yes. It's worth committing to this now, and for the foreseeable future. The energy is optimistic. Be acutely aware of the required tools or texts, agreements, terms and conditions and itineraries. Commitment is cute but aligned commitment is sexy AF. Make sure, y'all speak the same language! Make sure your twin, soul mate or soul flame, (and this could be your own SELF) is on the same page, that y'all want to go to the same destination because you are no longer traveling alone. As we say at home: "be careful who yuh does tie bundle wid!"
Sagittarius: The Star x Knight of Disks
Use the resources you already possess to mobilise a big idea, personal goal or dream that you have. You are inspired, you have a plan, but somehow you're just wishing and hoping it into existence. Get real, Sagittarius! Your dreams of higher education, furthering your career, foreign lands, wanderlust, adventure, expansion, and visibility --whatever your dream is-- will require actual labour on your part in order to be manifest. You do not need to go out to buy more stuff, new clothes, better tools, fancier gadgets, or hire anyone else to break ground on this project or desire. Be resourceful. What do you have around the house that is useful or even perfect for your needs? What skills and knowledge do you already possess? What is accessible to you from where you are right now, who you know, and maybe even what they have, and who they know. How can all of these resources--time, energy, money, network, access, etc-- be applied to what you may now only wish or dream of making a reality? Write down your idea, dream or plan. Make a list of resources you already have, and take the very first step of pairing resource with inspiration. Do the work! You know how to do the work. And please do it within your means; there no need to blow budget, empty your savings or mortgage your house to accomplish this divinely inspired goal.
Capricorn: King of Disks x 6 of Disks
Be generous with you resources this month, Capricorn! Looks like you can afford to give of your material goods, information, access time, energy, food, body, or money with plenty left over. Don't worry, these acts of kindness (and pleasure) won't deplete your stores or empty your cup because reciprocity, the spirit of giving and receiving will envelope you. You shall lack for nothing in April. Be open to receiving as well; that means you may have to be comfortable with asking for help! Any deficits you experience will filled, and more than likely you will be in a position to offer someone the resources they need and the peace of mind they deserve.
This energy keeps the fridge full, the bills paid, everyone clothed and is even a bit indulgent. This could show up as charitable donations, friendsgivings, potlucks, sou-sous, dinner parties and even vacations in luxury villas with chosen family; and you'll likely be the host! Abundance flows in every direction, and there is enough for everyone. I want to expand to the meaning of "resource" to also include physical and sexual pleasure here. The King of Disks is a certified Zaddy and they know how to take care of all of their babies ;) You could be responsible for refilling someone's coffers or giving them a big O again and again… or both! Aquarius: Page of Wands x 6 of Cups
Let your inner child guide you through your fears to joy, play and passion this month, Aquarius. Memory is essential to your path and processes at this time, and your memory is being activated here for a significant purpose. You may be called to remember a sweeter time, if not when a child or during your childhood, then a fleeting moment in your youth when it was safe to be kind, enthusiastic, and generous of spirit. Remember. Return. Reclaim. Remember what it was like to have no fear in your body. Return to your child-like enthusiasms and interests. Reclaim curiosity, wonder and awe as your own personal tools for navigating life. You will be pleased at what you dig up. An old friend, crush or lover may make a reappearance, perhaps not literally, but you may recall them in moments of heavy nostalgia. I continue to be fascinated with the inherent fearlessness and compassion of really young children--babies and toddler-- those tiny humans who haven't quite mastered language yet, but communicate and understand all the same. Ask your self, what would it be like to observe life through children's eyes again? What or who would be (re)gained? Remembering, memory, specifically nostalgia, and how they inform actions you take, will be a central theme at this time. Don't relive the past, but use it as a lens to view and navigate your most important matters this month.
Pisces: 8 of Wands x 6 of Wands
There's something urgent about victory; it can never come fast enough. This is giving big, "Are we there yet?" energy, and the answer is actually, "yea, almost there, buckle up!" Use whatever urgency, momentum, restlessness or electricity that is coursing through your body as the juice that gets you to the finish line. If you're having anxiety or excitement or any types of nerves about a thing, especially a creative project, career related goal or any generative relationship, then you need to pay attention to it right now! Swift communications and actions this month are essential! Don't delay on replying to emails, messages, invitations, opportunities, and so on. Pay keen attention to opportunities that call you in or invite you in to take up more space than you are used to! Lead a team, agree to be a brand ambassador, affix your name to a publication or something that can or will be publicized. Think recognition, pay cheques, special mentions, press, answering questions, photo ops, tiny parades. You deserve the credit because you've been doing or done the work.
I remember last month's advice to us Pisces was "slow down;" now, April's message is HURRY UP, dear fish! I hope we all got the rest we needed because now we must keep swimming! Tasks may require a little extra fight so be direct and forceful (not rude or crazy), but be intentional about the impact and the impression you'd like to make on and in the world. This energy is providing a fiery blast to your cool, watery oasis. This is what activation looks and feels like. This is a time of awakening and eruption for you. We may be remembering an old Fire power or inclination to fire magic. Do the bold thing, and do it swiftly from a place inner knowing. Consider these words from The Mary-El Tarot: "truth, awareness, revelation" and "majesty, glory, splendor." What is your relationship to this language?
