Pisces: Knight of Pentacles x The High Priestess
Happy (continued) Solar Return season my fellow fish! What an exciting time to be sitting in both your spiritual and material powers… if you're paying attention! Now is the time to practically resource your plans and goals by taking notes from your seen and felt surroundings, as well as your intuition! Take significant time to pause and observe both your inner and outer environments for critical information that can aid you in your specific endeavors throughout March. Be undoubtedly clear with yourself about what it is you are trying to accomplish, whether in career, relationships, resource accumulation, travel or health; and what methodical steps are required to get it done. Speed will not be an ally to us this month, Pisces. Slow down! This is an invitation to pay attention to the details. Zoom in on the nitty gritty aspects of all that you do, that's where the valuable takeaways will be. Sight. There's a message here about that which is seen; some details you'll be able to spot with your physical eyes, and others will require you to use your second sight. Don't move too quickly or loudly this month, my love. This pair of cards wants us to take the role of observer, listener, and witness of Self first and foremost, and secondarily, our external material environment in all matters. Aries: The Fool x 8 of Wands
March is a heated launching pad for you, Aries! You are literally or figuratively about to take OFF! You have the opportunity to welcome Aries season, the spring equinox, your birthdays with the force, heat and energy of a volcanic eruption. Take this opportunity with enthusiasm, swiftness, and the giddy-up of a thousand yesses. You will be required to act fast this month, and as a natural and keen initiator I expect you'll have enough vigor to get yourself and your plans off the ground. Specifically, do not hesitate when it comes to new opportunities, although the exact outcome may be unclear. Unexpected travel, go; more responsibility at work, take it; a chance to adventure naked with body paint, say yes! Also, do not procrastinate with regard to communication or replies, especially regarding any new opportunities; don't keep an invitation or offer on hold at all because it may quickly become unavailable to you. Taurus: 5 of Cups x 5 of Pentacles
Disappointment and loss may come hand in hand this March, Taurus. But as soon as you feel you've been dealt an emotional or material blow, a solution for overcoming said disappointment or loss will quickly follow. Fives in Tarot are transitional points of challenge, a midway hurdle, marking time. In the future you may frame things like: "before or after March." Indicated here are experiences like breakups, temporary job or housing losses or downsizing; small grievances like finding out your crush is unavailable to you or that you're account is overdrawn until you get paid again. In both cases (cups=emotions, pentacles= resources), all is not lost! As bb girl Aliyah said: "you can dust it off and try again, try again." It will be imperative to your survival to recognise as soon as possible that you have not actually been dispossessed of love, affection, support, help, money, time, energy, etc. These resources are still available to you in tidy quantities. The heartbreak won't crack you completely in half, and it certainly won't render you unlovable for all eternity. You will love and be loved again. The money you lost in the laundry or in an investment, or in the divorce… well that won't come back to you in full right away but you will have left, or be provided with, or have access to enough to maintain your basic essentials for living. Do not be afraid to ask for assistance in any regard. Isolation and silence will not serve nor save you. Seek comfort, a shoulder to cry on, a loan, a friend's sofa, a hot meal, and please accept the help that is offered. Allow yourself grieve the disappointment or loss, no matter how big or small. Grief is a very complex emotion to hold, especially when you may be living in survival mode; give yourself grace as you navigate through it and be assured that this is very temporary!
Gemini: The Hanged Man x Judgement
Your fate may be decided by others this month, Gemini. A decision made by a council, a court, another individual in authority over you, an institution, a panel, a collective, an elder, an election, etc. will need to be made in order for your path ahead to become clear. You will be required, and it is advised that you wait for this judgement to be made. You may experience significant discomfort and/or frustration while waiting. Surely, you will locked in a holding pattern, in stasis, in inaction, indecision or ambivalence for some time. Do not view this time of inaction or waiting as a negative. As you sit in discomfort, observe what is being said and done around you and take notes for yourself on the procedure if you're privy to it, and/or keep a journal or record of your own experience/thoughts/feelings at this time. You may not be in control of the outcome or the answer but you can control your own perspective and your own use of time while you are in limbo. Devise a plan of action; write pros & cons list; consider how, why, when, where, you can continue living, thriving, expressing whatever the decision and whatever the outcome; the most important thing here will be your perspective. Speaking of which, what role do you play in judgement--perhaps of yourself or others? Has a decision you've made or contributed to blocked your own path, tied your own hands, stalled your own plans? Question control; question the judgement of others, and even your own. When you get stuck, look at the matter from a different perspective and your way out will come into focus. These are matters of yes or no; freedom or captivity; action or inaction.
Cancer: The Devil x The Emperor
Dear Cancer, you are not trapped, you are actually in charge and free to make the rules. Are you feeling constrained by your own power or authority over a matter? Do not let your insecurities or fears around failure or success stop you from leading or governing yourself and others. On the other hand, somebody may be a slave to authority in some way, is it you? Either way, the notion of enslavement is false, it is a myth! You do not have to subscribe to something, promise yourself or your resources (time, energy, labour!) to anyone, or prostrate yourself for the benefit of others. There's imagery here of the dynamic of the oppressed vs the oppressor. Do you know which one you are? The nature of the oppression may not be physical, it may show up as emotional or psychological manipulation, and a gross misuse or abuse of power. Working overtime at your job for little to no extra pay or bonus, a person taking advantage of kindness of other resource you possess because they did you a favour once; an authority figure (or someone with more power than you in a specific circumstance--and we know the multiple intersections of factors that produce imbalances in power-- income, class, race, gender etc), coercing you into actions you may rather not take, or barring you from taking action you desire. The nature of capitalism obligates us to exchange our labour for money, and alienates us from rest. Similarly, someone, could be dangling love or other rewards in front of you in order to control you and your behaviour. Also, please reflect if you may be doing this to someone else. Whatever the dynamic, it's time to break free! You are not beholden to oppressive system or relationship, as the case may me; you can walk away and KNOW THAT YOU WILL SURVIVE. By walking away you will even discover power you didn't know you had, were told you could never have. The Devil is always a liar!
Leo: 9 of Wands x The Tower
Destruction is a fact of life, Leo and this month you may have to face it head on. Something in your life that was built on rocky, false, misaligned or unstable foundations may come crashing down. The matter may be in the vein of, a relationship built on a lie, a deal entered into under false pretenses, or a physical entity constructed on shaky foundation. There isn't much you can do to avoid this inevitable collapse, and nor is it advised; you may end up hurting yourself or others in some way if you try to keep this proverbial falling tower together. But you will be called to action in other ways. The nine of Wands requires intentional boundary making; you may need to shield and protect yourself from some elements of this fallout when, as they say, the shit hits the fan. Imagine debris and rubble flying every which way as a structure comes down. You may be out in a position where you feel you must defend yourself against the chaos happening around you, or even within you. How do you protect yourself from yourself? Self-forgiveness, compassion, grace. This thing you built i.e. a decision previously made, a relationship formed, contract signed, a project developed (whatever it is), you probably did it with the best of intentions and with the information you had at the time. Even if you ignored s bunch of red flags, self-loathing will not serve you now. Establish boundaries around engagement; you may not be able to wake up and deal with the fall out daily, and although you can't stop it, you can pace yourself as you experience this much needed destruction. After the dust settles you'll have a glorious amount of space (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual) but construct something more aligned to you now.
Virgo: Temperance x Strength
Patience and perseverance will be required of you this month, Virgo. Take time and sit with heavy or large decisions; you'll want to get as much information about your options or choices before you make them. Order samples, taste things, ask for confirmation, get receipts, check the temperature of the water before you jump in, insist on clarity and transparency in all things. You deserve to know exactly what it is you'll be working with or agreeing to. Be prudent. This type of measured doing may require a great amount of personal strength and self governance. Dare I say restraint? You may want to charge full steam ahead into an opportunity, relationship, journey or decision but exercising some caution and care is the better option in engaging with and eventually getting what you desire. At the heart of the matter and at the heart of you there is passion, natural talent, inherent gifts, loyalty, altruism, and courage. In order to sustain these qualities do not give in to overwork, burn out or premature excess. Pace yourself, you have time! This opportunity isn't going anywhere anytime soon. You will have a long duration in order to become better acquainted, research, explore, tap in and so on. Libra: The Star x The Chariot
Time to chase those dreams, Libra! No more resting on your laurels! You've thought and re-thought about, vacillated, procrastinated, planned, replanned and did all types of mental gymnastics, and you keep coming back to the same thought/idea/decision in the end. Stop torturing yourself and set out in the direction you know you want and desperately need to go in. No matter how impossible a certain plan seems, how far away a particular dream or goal is, you already have more than enough hope, inspiration, and -most importantly- the skill to bring this dream for your future to life. But wishing and hoping will do naught; you must put that game plan into literal action and start using your physical body to do the material steps and things required here. If you haven't yet, make a list of each step of your plan, like writing a recipe. Assemble your ingredients, measure out your quantities and begin to assemble them together. Be practical, be methodical; do not put the horse before the cart. Be practical, be methodical! Okay, that's it. Galang, gyal!
Scorpio: 4 of Pentacles x 3 of Wands
Be territorial and frugal this month, Scorpio-- with ya time, ya energy, ya land, ya rights, ya personal space, ya resources! Say, "this is my stuff!" and take your toys and leave the sandbox if folks are playing too fast and loose with your shit. A further step back into solitude may be required for you to figure out exactly what your values and principles around resource management are. Go through your accounts, statements, and schedules with a magnifying glass and a fine tooth comb. What are you spending your resources on? And do these expenses align with the values by which you wish to live your life? Where can you be saving time, money or energy by eliminating specific drains to those resources? Be vigorous (clap) about establishing (clap) boundaries (clap)! I love the analogy of the mote regarding the 4 of Pentacles: imagine you are in your castle surrounded by a deep circular mote. A drawbridge connects your castle to the rest of the land and controls access in and out of your castle. When you spot visitors on the horizon that you do not wish to share your time, space, energy, or resources with, then just pull up your drawbridge! Access denied! Simple! Live a values driven life this month; if something or someone is not on the pre-approved short list of must-haves then it's best not to even entertain them and definitely don't prioritize them. I know we see a lot of "protect ya energy" rhetoric online these days, and honestly sometimes I feel it's a shortchanging mechanism that removes us from communities we should we integrating with… BUT, not in this case, not for you, and not for at this time. Do, protect ya energy!
Sagittarius: Ace of Wands x Wheel of Fortune
March brings a spark of inspiration, a jolt of electricity, and new passion to be explored. As soon as lightning strikes, don't hesitate to act on the impulse or sensation it sends coursing through your veins because it'll lead you down a road of serendipitous abundance! As the mutable fire sign of the zodiac this is perfect initiatory energy for you to harness for the Spring Equinox and beginning of the new astrological year. This is a call to show up ready, ready to receive, ready to be seen, ready to be inspired and ready TO GO! No overthinking here, and no taking this charge of energy lightly or for granted because it can lead to new lease on life. If you resist this gift of fire you may suffer unnecessarily. Follow what makes you hot, what makes you ache and burn for more of it. The responses you receive and the energy or situations you attract will bring about impactful change that is different from what you have been experiencing so far. Capricorn: Death x 2 of Pentacles
Time to change it up! From the oil in your car to your daily schedule and habits, to larger patterns of behaviour and being! The Death card shows up reap and remove that which is no longer serving you, whether you're ready to let go of it or not. But chances are you probably know what you need to let die because it's been more and more difficult to juggle or navigate these matters seamlessly or without extra concern. If it feels hard right now, it probably needs to be transformed from the inside out! Both material affairs, and matters that which are emotional/spiritual in nature. Reflect on both how you spend your money and time, but also how and where you spend your energy and emotions. You could be locked in a cycle of doing, giving or spending that leaves you in a deficit or in chaos trying to hold everything together. Do not invest in a certain past time or behaviour or labour for the sake of "keeping up appearances". Let all social, personal, outward/ inward performances come to end and a permanent close. Transform first the way you are managing your energies and emotions internally, and you'll see your external reality and practices transform as well. Always, the biggest lesson of the Death card is LET IT GO.
Aquarius: 4 of Wands x 7 of Cups
Feel free to sit in awe of yourself and all that you've recently accomplished, Aquarius. Let the waters of Pisces season wash upon your shores all that you've previously offered, given up and put out into the world, now transformed into treasures and fruits for you to enjoy!
